International Conference

INTERACTION OF RADIATION
WITH SOLIDS

Minsk, Belarus
September 26 – 29, 2023

The 15th International Conference on the Interaction of Radiation with Solids (IRS-2023) organized by the Belarusian State University, the Ministry of Education of Belarus, the National Academy of Sciences and Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research will be held in Minsk, Republic of Belarus in September 26 – 29, 2023.

ISSN (Print) 2663-9939, ISSN (Online) 2706-9060.

Conference Proceedings “Interaction of Radiation with Solids”are published periodically: once in every two years. The Publisher is Belarusian State University (Nezavisimosti ave. 4, 220030 Minsk, Republic of Belarus). Content of issue (2021).

The first International Conference “Interaction of radiation with solids” took place at the base of Physics Faculty of Belarusian State University in October 16-19, 1995 in Minsk. This conference initiated close international collaboration between scientific centers of Belarus, Russia, Germany, Poland and Lithuania that work on problems of interaction of charged particles beams with materials.

The conference founders are the Belarusian State University, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research.

The latest achievements in the field of different types of radiation (neutrons, photons, ions, electrons, plasma) impact on solids and condensed matter are discussed at the conference. Great attention is paid to combined processes such as ion-assisted laser-magnetron deposition, electron-ion-plasma treatment. Problems of nuclear engineering in materials science including applications of radiation for materials analysis, synthesis of radiation-resistant materials are topical conference discussion points.

The conference is held periodically: once in every two years.

14 conferences were held from 1995 to 2021. Representatives of 27 countries took part in the conference in this period: Germany, France, Sweden, Swiss, Israel, Hungary, Japan, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Australia, Denmark, USA, Egypt, Turkey, South African Republic, Pakistan, China, Vietnam, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Belarus.

Conference Sections:

1. Processes of radiation and plasma interaction with solids.
2. Radiation effects in solids.
3. Radiation influence on the structure and properties of materials.
4. Nanomaterials: formation and properties under the influence of radiation.
5. Methods, equipment, plasma and radiation technologies.

Presentations will include:

  • Plenary reports (30 min)
  • Section reports (15 min)
